INTERIORS
What is Inside is just as important as what is Outside
and sometimes it is even more so.
Isn’t elegance basically the subtle balance between what appears on the surface
and what we intrinsically are?
So are the things that are dear to us.
Outwardly they speak the language of everyone but inwardly they speak only for us, the language of emotions.
They remind us that what is not obvious to everyone at first glance, actually reveals – but only to those who can grasp it – a rare, exuberant, and unmistakeable Beauty, without even needing to resort to Proust’s overused Madeleines to describe it.
Details that are not commonplace details.
Details that positively overturn the entire perception of the Whole.
Just like in nature, like certain flowers that reveal incredible colours only in specific conditions and circumstances, or diffuse heavenly fragrances only at night.
Even the inside of a bag, crafted with special care,
can unveil unique aesthetic aspects that surprise and almost negate the mere pragmatism of the utilitarian receptacle – affirming, conversely, the importance
and necessity of an ever-more indispensable Beauty, in harmony with the world
and with what, deep down, we are.
Outside and Inside.
